Man, I must have been a chunk. Kinzie is wearing the same clothes I was wearing at 5 months now. She's 9 months old. So much for being born bigger than I was!
Our last hurrah of the summer was a trip to Lancaster, Pennsylvania - home of the Amish. We stayed in a rental with some new friends from Glen Ridge - the D'Arcys. Sebastian is a classmate and friend of mine from last year. His younger brother, Tad, just turned one. For some reason, everyone gets Mommy and Mrs. D'Arcy confused. Mommy always mumbles something about all Asians looking alike...
We spent an incredible four days with some old friends in Wellfleet, Massachusetts. It was the first trip to Cape Cod for all four of us. The Kraskes (Chris's old childhood friend) were sweet and invited us to join them in Brent's mother's ancestral home. The place was amazing. We spent one day on the beach on the Cape side. It was unlike anything we had ever seen - completely rocky and beautiful. The next day, we went to the Cape's version of a pond. It would be called a lake by any Chicagoan's standard. The second to the last day? We checked out the ocean side, but it had gotten extremely cold and windy by then. Still, it was gorgeous. Was it worth the ridiculous twelve hours to take a five-hour ride? Absolutely.
